Southern Miss Completes First Round of Lady Paladin Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Friend Chompitakdacha paced the Golden Eagles through the first 18 holes at the Furman University Golf Course, holding a tie for 29th with a 3-over 75.
The Chiangmai, Thailand native birdied No. 18 and entered the weekend after posting both her top 18- and 54-hole scores. Emily Cox, Cassidy Evreniadis and Tenley Moretti also had two birdies apiece. Cox also performed her best on par-fives, finishing a team-low, 1-under over her four attempts.
Southern Miss sits within nine strokes of the No. 12 spot, trailing Tulsa, James Madison and Georgia State.Â
No. 1 Wake Forest and its own Siyun Liu hold the top team and individual spots, respectively, with a 2-under 268 and 5-under 67.
Saturday's second-round action will begin at 8 a.m. CT, with live scoring provided through Golfstat.com.
