Trey Johnson to Run in USATF's U20 Outdoor Championships

The meet takes place in Miramar, Fla.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Freshman sprinter Trey Johnson will be competing in the USATF U20 Outdoor Championships in Miramar, Fla. on Sat., June 22.
Trey Johnson, a sprinter from Fayetteville, Ga., will be running in the 400m at the USATF U20 Outdoor Championships. He is coming in as the fifth-ranked runner out of 15 total competitors. He will be competing against runners from Middle Tennessee, Baylor, Northwest Missouri State, Oklahoma State, Houston, Stephen F. Austin, and one track club. Johnson had a season-best time of 46.35 in the 400m, posting a first-place finish at the Southern Miss Invitational. He also ran a leg of the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400m relays for the Golden Eagles. The freshman finished in sixth place at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships with a time of 48.07 in the 400m. He went on to the NCAA East Regional and finished 20th in the semifinal round with a time of 46.80.
The men's 400m prelims will take place on day two of the meet with a start time of approximately 1:56pm CT, after the women have competed.
The Under 20 Championships will be hosted at Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar, Fla. from June 21-23. Spectator admission for daily entry is $15, while a weekend event pass is $45.
