HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss Golden Eagles (22-16, 8-7 C-USA) will take on the Mississippi Valley State Devilettes (4-28, 1-10 SWAC) in a single-game midweek matchup at the Southern Miss Softball Complex on Wednesday night. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. (CT).

The last time that Southern Miss took the softball field, they completed the series sweep against C-USA foe UTSA. The Golden Eagles won Sunday's game against the Roadrunners by a final score of 4-1.

Southern Miss' series sweep against UTSA on Sunday marked the first for the Golden Eagles of the 2019 season.

Southern Miss freshman outfielder Kaitlyn Passeau recorded the first double of her Southern Miss career after earning an at-bat as a pinch hitter in the bottom of the sixth inning of Sunday's game against UTSA.

Passeau blasted a ball to the gap in right center to score Tata Davis, extending the Golden Eagles' lead, 3-1.

Southern Miss junior right-handed pitcher Abby Trahan was named C-USA Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Sunday, April 7, the league announced on Monday.

Monday marked the second time this season the Trahan has garnered C-USA Pitcher of the Week honors.
