HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss senior Tjasa Jerse has been named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team for the second consecutive season.
"I couldn't be more proud of Tjasa and her academic and athletic accomplishments," said head coach Steve Schram. "To be one of only six selected from the conference for her academic accomplishments is truly amazing. She does such a tremendous job balancing both her academics and tennis while competing at a high level. This is what Southern Miss tennis is all about."
The Slovenia native has posted nine wins while maintaining a 3.80 GPA in International Business. Eight of her wins have come on court three, while the other win came in her lone appearance at second singles. Previously, Jerse was named a 2017 ITA Scholar-Athlete after posting an 18-2 record as a sophomore. Jerse's 67 career wins rank fourth all-time in Southern Miss history.
In 2019, Jerse and Arina Amaning have compiled a 7-4 record at the top doubles position for the Golden Eagles. Jerse and Southern Miss will continue its season against UTSA on Thursday at the C-USA Championships.
