Women's Golf in Eighth-Place After First Two Rounds at UNF Collegiate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Henriette Syr has continued her solid spring momentum with a 1-over 145 showing, and the Southern Miss women's golf team is holding the No. 8 spot at the UNF Collegiate after Monday's 36 holes.
Syr was the team's top Round One performer, boasting an even-72. The redshirt-junior from Oslo, Norway had five birdies. Miranda Holt and Friend Chompitakdacha each followed with 73s.
Chompitakdacha showed much resolve after carding back-to-back bogeys to begin play, finishing 1-under the rest of the way. Her 73 topped her previous career-low by four strokes. Holt's 73 also matched her season-low after playing nine rounds prior.
Southern Miss ultimately held a tie for fourth after that opening round. As for the two combined rounds, the Golden Eagles boasted the second-best tally on par-fives (4-under as a team).Â
Delaware's Ariane Klotz leads the field with a 6-under 138, helped by a 67 in her first round, to carry her team to its first-place standing.
