Southern Miss Finishes First Day in Arizona

SADDLEBROOKE, Ariz. -- Three Golden Eagles were within three strokes of an even-par score in the first round, and the squad as a whole holds the No. 13 spot at the MountainView Collegiate entering Saturday's second round.
Miranda Holt carded a team-high four birdies, three of which coming in a six-hole span. On a similar note, Holt, Henriette Syr and Valentina Haupt each birdied No. 18. The Golden Eagles actually found their most success on par-4 holes, including No. 18, sitting at No. 5 in that column (4.12 average).
Haupt's 2-over 74 matches her best round of the spring. Cassidy Evreniadis shot an even-par over her last 13 holes.
