HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss will play just its third home match, and first since Jan. 28, when it hosts Delta State at 11 a.m. CT on Sunday.
The Golden Eagles last weekend bounced back from a loss to No. 20 LSU to handle Nicholls, 4-1, the following day. The squad continues to see a lot out of Chung-Han Tsai and Jorman Reyes, who both lead the team with four singles wins. Reyes and Ronit Bisht have also been rock-solid in doubles, going 3-1 so far (including a defeat of UAB).
The team has had most of its success on the No. 1 and 3 singles courts, going a combined 9-2, and will continue looking to identify its other doubles threats as the middle of the season picks up.
Southern Miss is 6-0 all-time against the Statesmen, with the last meeting coming in 2017. Delta State has only played two matches so far, but cruised against Alcorn State (6-0) and Christian Brothers (Tenn.), 7-0.
The Golden Eagles are 27-4 at home since the start of the 2017 season.
