Southern Miss is coming off a 25 point win at UTSA.
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Lady Eagles leave San Antonio win a win under their belt as they head to El Paso to take on UTEP on Saturday afternoon. Tip off is set for 1pm CT at the Don Haskins Center.
Southern Miss (14-11, 6-6) faces UTEP (6-19, 3-9) on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Eagles come off a low-scoring game individually against UTSA, but a game where every player came off the bench and each of them had points to their name, finishing with a win. UTEP comes off a 74-64 loss to LA Tech. The Lady Eagles have now had seven games where they are shooting 50 percent or better from the field.
Megan Brown is 27 points away from hitting 1,000 career points. She has moved into the top-three for all-time games played. Shonte Hailes leads in scoring, and she remains the leading assister for the Lady Eagles. Kelsey Jones stays the leading rebounder as well.
Coach Joye Lee-McNelis
"UTEP has played those teams at the top of our league down to the wire. In order for them to bring home hardware in March, we're going to need toughness. We've got to push and get through that. Players have to step up, it's about sheer toughness. We need to focus in defensively, clean some of our passing lanes. We're reminding our players what we hang our hat on and who we are, especially as a defensive team."

The Lady Eagles return home, hosting LA Tech on Feb. 23 for an afternoon matchup in Reed Green, with tip set for 4pm.
