WBB Defeats UTSA in San Antonio

The Lady Eagles had every player come off the bench and score.
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Lady Eagles came away with a win in San Antonio, defeating UTSA 70-45.
Southern Miss (14-11, 6-6) defeated the Roadrunners of UTSA (6-18, 1-11) in good fashion, 70-45 in the Convocation Center. This was the sixth win for the Lady Eagles when the game is decided by 20 or more points. The Roadrunners never cut the Lady Eagles' lead below double-digits. Southern Miss has now had seven games shooting 50 percent or better from the field, shooting 53.2 percent tonight. The Lady Eagles also had 28 points off of turnovers, and 54 of their points came in the paint. More than half of Southern Miss' points came off the bench and had 23 assists on 33 field goals. The Lady Eagles out-rebounded the Roadrunners 41-36.
This was the 13th time that the Lady Eagles have played a game on Valentine's Day, and are now 7-6 when playing on the holiday. It was also the fourth game wearing their Play 4 Kay shooting shirts.
Every single Southern Miss player came off the bench, and each of them scored at least once. Respect Leaphart led the team in points with 10, the third time this season and six times in her career. Leaphart and Kennedy Gavin led the team in rebounds, both with six. Megan Brown had a career-high in assists and led the team with seven, and Alarie Mayze tied her career-high in assists with five. This was also Brown's 89th career start and 125th career game. She's now 27 points away from hitting 1,000 career points.
