The team, along with a host of other volunteers, organized boxes for Meals on Wheels. The program allows for warm meals to get delivered to families within the community, according to the website. The Golden Eagles assisted by putting turkey, gravy, green beans, bread, and desert into meal boxes.

"It was a rewarding experience to give back to the Hattiesburg community. We were able to assemble hundreds of Meals on Wheels for local residents which will be delivered directly to them. I am proud of our close group of young ladies and their desire to help others in the community."

"Sometimes we just think about what we don't have and about what we wish we had. But we are not aware of how lucky we are. Every day we have a plate on our table and we have a place to sleep. That's basic and we just take it for granted and don't appreciate it. Today's experience has been very helpful and important to me. I really hope we can give back again."
Southern Miss will kickoff its 2020 campaign in late January.
