Women's Golf Signs Merche Corbacho to NLI

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss women's golf head coach Lucy Nunn has announced the signing of Merche Corbacho out of Castellon, Spain for the 2020-21 school year.
Corbacho won Spain's U12 national title in 2014 as well as competing with the U18 team champions in 2017 and 2018. She has been ranked as high as 19th in her country, as well as fifth in the 2018 regional rankings. She also earned a bronze medal in the U14 Spanish National Team Championship. She attends San Cristobal Centros Educativos in Castellon.
"Our 2020 class may be small, but it is mighty!" Nunn said. "With a lot of international and team play, Merche brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our young team. We are thankful for the opportunity to help Merche grow while she chases her dreams on and off the golf course."
The Golden Eagles will lose only one senior in Cassidy Evreniadis.
The spring season will begin with the Texas State Invitational in San Marcos from Feb. 10-11.
