
Southern Miss Wraps Up First Day of Brickyard Collegiate

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Valentina Haupt leads the Southern Miss women's golf team, sitting tied for 26th overall, after a first round of five-over (77) at The Mizuno Brickyard Collegiate. The team is positioned in 13th at 32-over.
Haupt's round included 12 pars, 10 of them coming consecutively, and the junior's scorecard only had two blemished on the front nine, a team-best. Sitting one stroke off Haupt is Nichada Satasuk at six-over (78) and tied for 34th. Satasuk sank a birdie on hole No. 15 and was one of two Golden Eagles to post a team-best two-over on the back nine.
Miranda Holt trails Satasuk by one stroke at seven-over (79) and is situated in a seven way tie for 45th. The Pensacola, Fla. native tallied a birdie on hole No. 10 and marked a team-best two-over on the back nine. Emily Cox and Julie Baker make up the rest of the Southern Miss line up tied for 71st and 76th. Cox submitted a 14-over (86) on the day and Baker posted a 16-over (88).
The Golden Eagles will hit the links with Samford and Florida State tomorrow, teeing off every 10 minutes from 9:00 a.m. to 9:40 a.m.
