
Miranda Holt Leads Team at C-USA Championship

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Junior Miranda Holt leads the Southern Miss women's golf team at the Conference USA Championship after posting a three-over (75) in the opening round. The Pensacola, Fla. native is currently tied for 12th and the Golden Eagles are tied for 9th after tallying 22-over (310) on the day.
Holt collected three birdies, the third most of any competitor, and nine pars on the 6,194 yard Old Orange course at the Verandah Club in Fort Myers, Fla. during today's round. The junior also owns one of the best Par 3 and Par 4 scorings of any player in the tournament.
Sitting tied for 27th after marking a five-over (77) in their opening round are junior Valentina Haupt and senior Nichada Satasuk. Haupt sank two birdies and Satasuk collected three birdies on the first go of the 18 holes. Satasuk maintains the best Par 5 average of the 60 golfer field.
Kayla Bloor and Emily Cox make up the rest of the Southern Miss scorecard tied for 48th at nine-over (81) and tied for 53rd with a 10-over (82), respectively.
The Golden Eagles, paired with North Texas and FIU, will tee off every 10 minutes from hole No. 10 starting at 8:00 a.m. ET tomorrow morning.
