LeeMarcus Boyd Named C-USA Co-Hitter of the Week

Boyd, from Coldwater, Miss., hit safely in all four games last week to up his current hitting streak to seven games as the nationally-ranked Golden Eagles posted a 4-0 record.
The No. 9 hitter in the Southern Miss order registered two hits in all four games and had a double in each of the Middle Tennessee games. Boyd registered six RBI for the week to give him 35 this season, which ranks fourth-best on the squad. He also scored in every game, totaling seven runs. He drove in three runs in the win at South Alabama and scored three runs in the series finale at Middle Tennessee.
This is Boyd’s first C-USA Hitter of the Week award and third for the Golden Eagles this season. Florida Atlantic outfielder David Miranda shared the award, while Louisiana Tech hurler Nate Harris won the Pitcher of the Week accolade.
The Golden Eagles return home this weekend when they entertain Florida Atlantic in a three-game series.
