HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss Women's Golf team will fight for an automatic bid into the 2017 NCAA Women's Golf Championship Regional at the C-USA Women's Golf Championship April 17-19.
"We are ready for a great test at Verandah Club," head coach Erika Brennan said. "The team has prepared well and now it's time to surrender the outcome and play in the moment. We love the course and know that it will be a challenge so we will need to be patient and capitalize when opportunities present themselves. They play for one another and that's all that we ask. This is going to be a fun week!"
As the No. 2 seed, the Golden Eagles are paired with No. 1 seed Old Dominion and No. 3 seed UTSA. The group will tee off from the first hole at 7:50 a.m. CT.
The squad, amid an already notable season, looks to top the program's third place finish from last year's championship, the highest finish in program history.
Throughout the season, only one conference team has placed higher than Southern Miss at the same tournament. During the 2016-17 campaign the Golden Eagles have finished above eight conference teams when competing in the same tournament.
