
Women's Tennis Fall in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. â€" The Southern Miss women's tennis team fall against South Alabama (10-4) 4-1 on its Saturday road match.
Tjasa Jerse returned to winning form earning the Golden Eagles only point of the day from court 5. Jerse defeated Patricia Martins 7-6, 6-1. Jerse is now 8-2 in singles play and leads the teams with wins.
The doubles teams fell on courts two and three 6-0 and 6-3. Alex Kitchen and Carolin Drescher's match was 4-4 before being called.
Elena Roca and Rikeetha Pereira were defeated in singles before Jerse could earn the point. The Jaguars clinched the match when Laura Valkova defeated Kitchen on court 2 7-5, 6-2.
Saturday's match was the first of six straight road matches for the Golden Eagles. The team will travel to Atlanta, Ga., to face Kennesaw State and Georgia State on March 10 and 11.
