HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss men's and women's indoor track and field team travel to Birmingham, Ala., for the Jaguar Invitational hosted by South Alabama.
The events begin at noon starting with the women's 3000m with the first field event - the women's high jump - scheduled to start up at 12:10.
The Golden Eagles have competed in Birmingham at the Crossplex twice, this being the third, this season.
"The Birmingham Crossplex is a familiar venue and there are some very good teams competing, so the conditions will be good for a breakout meet for us," said head coach Jon Stuart.
The men will compete in an 18-team field, including C-USA member Louisiana Tech. For the women, there will be a 23-team field that includes conference opponents Louisiana Tech and UAB.
"This is an important meet for us," said Stuart. "We will be two weeks out from the CUSA Championships and our athletes should be gearing up for their top performances of the season."
