
Golden Eagles Drop First Spring Match of The Season

TAMPA, Fla. – The Southern Miss Women's Tennis team fell to the University of South Florida 7-0 on Friday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles dropped their first spring match of the season to the Bulls who are now 2-2 in spring play. The recently regional ranked doubles pair of Carolin Drescher and Alex Kitchen lost their doubles match 6-2.
Tjasa Jerse was the closest for the Golden Eagles to steal a set against Juliana Cardoso but fell just short in a 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) loss. Rikeetha Pereira also forced a tiebreak against her Bulls opponent for the first set but ultimately fell 7-6 (8-6), 6-1.
The Golden Eagles couldn't secure a set and are now 1-1 on the season before facing Florida Gulf Coast tomorrow.
