
Women's Tennis Continue To Win At Home

HATTIESBURG, Miss. â€" Tzu-Hui Chen claimed the winning point for the Southern Miss Women's Tennis team (5-3) to remain unbeaten at home after a 6-1 win against West Alabama Thursday afternoon.
No. 2 and No. 3 defeated both Tiger duos 6-3 to earn the doubles point despite the No. 1 court falling 6-4.
Tjasa Jerse extends her win streak to six matches after her 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 3 against Georgina Morral. Jerse hasn't dropped a set in seven matches.
Chen picked up where she left off in doubles winning straight sets 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4. Thursday's doubles match was only the second match Chen and Jerse played together at No. 3 and is now 2-0.
Claudia Castella battled a tough match on court six. Castella breezed past Andrea Tomassone in the first set but was forced to a tiebreaker in the second. Castella won the second set 10-8.
The Golden Eagles are set to host Tulane, Tuesday Feb. 28, at 11 am at the USM Tennis Facility. The Waves are 11-2 before this weekend's matches at the Blue-Gray Tournament in Montgomery, Ala.
