
Women's Tennis Improves to 4-0 At Home

HATTIESBURG, Miss. â€" Southern Miss women's tennis serves another shutout match at home on Saturday against Southern to improve to 4-0 at the Southern Miss Tennis Facility.
Seniors and doubles partners Carolin Drescher and Alex Kitchen earn the first win of the day with an easy 6-2 win at the No. 1 spot. The pair improves to 5-2 on the season. The seniors win allowed Tzu-Hui Chen and Tjasa Jerse to claim the doubles point with their 6-2 win at No. 3.
Drescher used her doubles win momentum in singles play with wins in straight sets to put the Golden Eagles up 2-0 with her 6-1, 6-0 win.
Kitchen also had an easy match up in her straight set wins and didn't drop a single game. Kitchen improves to 5-2 on the season at No. 2 spot in singles.
Chen clinched the match with her 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 6 spot. Chen improves to 3-1.
The Golden Eagles host West Alabama for their second of four home games in a row on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 2:30 p.m.
