
Men's Tennis Defeats Quinnipiac 6-1

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Southern Miss men's tennis team won five of six singles and claimed the doubles point in defeating Quinnipiac University 6-1 at the Fort Gatlin Tennis Center Tuesday.
The Golden Eagles improved to 12-7 overall while Quinnipiac fell to 7-5.
Southern Miss got wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles for the 1-0 lead against Bobcats. Wen-Po Tseng and Chao-Yu Huang defeated Luke Roser and Freddie Zaretsky 6-1 to start the match. Jorman Reyes and Rakshit Rishi lost to Kei Ezaka and Kyle Alper at No. 3 as the match was tied with a match each. Tarun Surat and Daniel Merker clinched the point with a 6-2 win at No. 1 against Jonas Kuwert and Julian Rozenstein.
Southern Miss added points with straight wins at No. 3, No. 5, No. 2 and No. 6. Huang downed Rozenstein 6-4, 6-1 while Merker claimed at 6-4, 6-3 win over Alper. Tseng defeated Zaretsky 7-5, 6-2 and Teeradon Tortrakul downed Ryoma Haraguchi 6-3, 7-5. Surat added the final point in a three-set match by the score of 6-3, 2-6, 10-5 over Ezaka.
Reyes lost his match to Kuwert at No. 4 with a 3-6, 7-5, 10-5 score.
Southern Miss is back in action on Wednesday against Bucknell.
