Eight players are hitting over .300 and three Golden Eagles, Jake Sandlin, Taylor Braley and Chuckie Robinson, each are hitting .500 thus far this season.

The two schools meet for the first time since 2011. The Golden Eagles hold a 14-6 record in the series dating back to the 1949 campaign.
Northwestern State coach Lane Burroughs, in his third season as top baseball coach there, returns to Hattiesburg after spending nine seasons as an assistant coach for the Golden Eagles from 1999-07.
