Q&A with Baseball Senior Tim Lynch

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- With the 2016 season just around the corner, Golden Eagle fans have the opportunity to get to know senior Tim Lynch. He is a Jupiter, Fla. native who is a three-year starter for the Southern Miss baseball team. For his efforts on the field, Lynch was selected All-Conference USA last season.
What brought you to Southern Miss?
The opportunity to play for a great program with history, a great fan base, and facilities. Also to get a great education from a vert reputable university.
What is your favorite home cooked meal?
Anything involved in thanksgiving dinner.
During your career as an athlete, do you consider one person as your mentor, maybe a coach?
My older brother; learning through his experiences was big for me.
What drives you as an athlete?
Fear of failure
What type of player do you consider yourself to be?
Experienced
How has Southern Miss impacted your life since you started here?
It has given me great relationships, a great education, and some awesome experiences that I will remember forever.
Favorite thing to do outside of athletics?
Watch football or hockey
How did you manage to get into your sport?
I watched Spring Training just down the road from me, got to see it up close and I really liked it.
Biggest difference between high school and collegiate athletics?
The speed of the game and the level of play.
Where did you get the passion for your sport?
Seeing guys like Mark McGwire up close during spring training games when I was young.
What was the deciding factor that made you choose to come Southern Miss?
The baseball facility. It is one of the best in the country.
Outside of electronics, what is your most important possession?
My bed
You walk into a convenience store and can only buy one item, what is it?
Scratch offs; maybe I can get more items next time.
Where would you want to go on a vacation if money was no option?
Bora Bora

I slipped coming around third base my freshman year.
If you could choose a super power, what would it be? Why?
To fly; don't have to sit in traffic or wait in airports.
The Southern Miss baseball team begins the 2016 campaign at The Pete on Friday, Feb. 19 as the Golden Eagles host Eastern Illinois in a three-game weekend series.
