
Men's Golf Opens Play at Memphis Intercollegiate

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Redshirt junior Ryan Argotsinger (Kansas City, Mo.) shot a one-over par 145 to place tied for 18th after the opening day of the Memphis Intercollegiate being played at Colonial Country Club in Memphis, Tenn., on Monday.
The Golden Eagles shot team scores of 299 and 302 over the first 36 holes for a 601 total at the 7,304-yard, par-72 South Course for 13th-place after the opening day.
Argotsinger put together rounds of 72 and 73, while senior Hayes Weathersby (Poplarville, Miss.) fired a one-under 71 for the best Golden Eagle round of the day in his first round before following with a 77 to finish at four-over par 148 and a tie for 30th.
Freshmen Derick Kelting (Amarillo, Texas) and Willie Hammond (Southlake, Texas) each completed the first 36 holes with a score of 154, as both shot a 78 in the first round with a 76 in the second circuit which places them tied for 57th. Sophomore Matt Codd (Red Deer, Alberta), totaled a 175 (90-85) and is in 75th-place.
Redshirt freshman Nathan Corchis (Water Sound, Fla.), who is playing as an individual, shot rounds of 76 and 79 for a score of 155 and a 61st-place tie.
Arkansas State shot a 292 and a 282 to finish the day at two-under par 574, followed by Memphis at a one-under 575 (287-288), Lipscomb and Little Rock and Middle Tennessee at 579, Cincinnati at 580, North Texas at 581, Central Arkansas at 585, WKU at 592, UT Martin at 595, Belmont at 597, Presbyterian at 598 and Southern Miss.
The final round of the tournament begins at 7:30 a.m., and the Golden Eagles begin going off the tee at 9 a.m.
