Durst, McMahon Named to C-USA All-Tourney Team

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss right-handed pitcher James McMahon and designated hitter Matt Durst were named to the Conference USA Baseball Championship, presented by Petro Nissan, All-Tournament team here Sunday following the final game.
In his only outing in the tournament against Old Dominion, McMahon scattered five hits and walked one while fanning five and not surrendering a run over 8 2/3 innings. The Golden Eagles won that contest 2-0 in 12 innings.
As for Durst, he went 6-for-10 in the Golden Eagles in three games with a double, an RBI and a walk.
The Golden Eagles (36-18-1) will now await the announcement of the 64-team field for the NCAA Tournament, Monday. The selection show will take place at 11 a.m., CT on ESPNU.
FIU gained the league's automatic bid by defeating UAB 8-2 in the championship game on Sunday.
