Abrile Ties for Ninth at Conference USA Championship

Fort Myers, Fla. -- Freshman Belen Abrile closed with a two-over 74 to finish tied for ninth-place at even par at the Conference USA Championship, played at the par-72, 6,081 Verandah Club.
The Lady Eagles shot a final round 303 to finish 32-over par. Their 54-hole score of 896 ties their lowest ever in the tournament and is the second lowest in school history.
Abrile becomes the first Lady Eagle to finish even par at the C-USA Championship. The ninth-place finish is her career best, and her 54-hole score of 216 ties the fifth lowest in school history.
Sophomore Devon Spriddle finished in 17th-place at four-over par after carding a 74. Sophomore Emily Ross posted an 81 to tie for 36th-place at three-over par. Her 54-hole score of 228 is a career best.
Junior Jennifer Nguyen tied for 44th-place at 16-over par after carding a 74 and junior MacKenzie Kelly finished 43-over par, in 54th-place, after posting a 97.
Middle Tennessee won the tournament at seven-under par, eight strokes in front of FIU. FIU's Meghan MacLaren won the individual title at 10-under par, one stroke in front of Middle Tennessee's Samantha Gotcher.
