Women's Tennis Team Falls to South Alabama 7-0

MOBILE, Ala. - The Southern Miss women's tennis team fell to South Alabama 7-0 on Friday afternoon.
South Alabama opened the match sweeping the doubles to earn the first point of the match.
The Jaguars took the momentum into singles play and winning all six matches.
Alex Kitchen battled at No. 5 with Mary Angela Martin winning in a tie-breaker in the first set 7-6 (3), before winning the second set 6-4. Elena Roca also battled in her match at No. 6, losing her first set in a tie-breaker to Laura Matuskova 7-6 (5) before dropping the second set 6-3.
Southern Miss is back in action on Mar. 9 against Boston University, playing in Miami, Fla., then face FIU on Mar. 10. The Golden Eagles travel to Boca Raton to play against Bethune Cookman and Florida Atlantic on Mar. 10 and Mar. 12, respectively.
