Southern Miss accounted for both of its runs on solo home runs by Connor Barron, in the fifth, and Tim Lynch, in the sixth, as both players recorded their second round-tripper of the season. The Golden Eagles now have five homers this season.
With a two-run advantage, the Trojans added another run in the second on a RBI groundout by Tripp Calhoun, before the nine-hole hitter notched in his second run in as many innings with a bases-loaded walk in the fourth. Troy then finished its scoring on a RBI single from Reid Long and a sacrifice fly from Hall to complete the scoring.
