Kris Allen Set to Headline Eagle Jam Concert, Jan. 31

HATTIESURG, Miss. - The third annual Eagle Jam concert and Taste of the `Burg event, will take play Saturday, Jan. 31, with pop-rock star Kris Allen headlining the event prior to the Southern Miss men's basketball game against Western Kentucky.
The Southern Miss Department of Athletics, in conjunction with the Southern Miss Activities Council (SMAC) and the Southern Miss Student Eagle Club, sponsors the free pregame concert, which will be held on Pride Field. More details, including additional information about the Taste of the `Burg, will be released at a later time and will be held before the Golden Eagles' contest that day.
Allen, who recently released his third full-length album Horizons, is best known for his 1.7 million-selling hit single "Live Like We're Dying" from his self-titled debut album. This single was released a few months after the Arkansas native won the eighth season of American Idol and reached the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. Allen's second album, Thank You Camellia, was released in 2012 and features hits such as "Out Alive," "My Weakness," and "Better With You."
Fans of all ages are invited to attend this free event prior to the game. Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged to be brought out to Pride Field.
