Men's Hoops Travels to Drexel for Sunday Tilt

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss travels to Philadelphia, Pa., this Sunday, Nov. 30, to face Drexel. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT.
Southern Miss and Drexel will meet for just the second time in their history, and the first time in Philadelphia. Last year, the Golden Eagles defeated Drexel in Reed Green Coliseum, 66-49.
When the Golden Eagles face Drexel, it will be just their seventh meeting against the Colonial Athletic Association. When facing the CAA, Southern Miss is 3-3. Head coach Doc Sadler is 1-0 when facing the CAA, having defeated Hofstra in the 2010 Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
This will be just the second game all-time for Southern Miss in the state of Pennsylvania. The Black and Gold played in Pittsburgh in the 2012 NCAA Tournament, losing in the second round to Kansas State, 70-64.
The Golden Eagles return just five letterwinners from last year's Conference USA Championship team. Forward Matt Bingaya leads the Golden Eagles with 19.5 points, which is second in Conference USA. He is also averaging 6.5 rebounds per game, 1.0 steals and is connecting on 50.9% from the floor. Guard Chip Armelin is second on the team with 11.3 points.
Forward Norville Carey is averaging 9.8 points. He second in the league in field goal percentage, hitting 68.2% from the floor and is tied for sixth in blocks (1.5). Guard Shadell Millinghaus is averaging 9.0 points and guard Rasham Suarez leads C-USA and is 14th in the country in assist-to-turnover ratio (5.7). Guard Dallas Anglin is also third in the league in free throw percentage, connecting on 93.3% from the line.
Southern Miss is averaging 73.2 points per game, while allowing 68.2. The Golden Eagles are connecting on 45.9% from the field and 32.5% from behind the arc. Its opponents are hitting 44.4% from the floor and 32.5% from three. However, the Black and Gold are being outrebounded, 34.2-to-31.8.
Sadler enters his first season at the helm of the Southern Miss men's basketball program. He has compiled a 152-108 (.585) record in nine years as a head coach.
