Freshman Kevin Holland sat down with Southern Miss Media Relations to answer a few questions:
What made you choose Southern Miss?
I thought it was the best chance to win. I knew we had a good coach and I thought I'd have a good group of teammates that I could play beside.
How has the transition from high school to college been so far?
It's a big change, but I've been able to adjust quickly. It took me some time to understand the offense, because it's like an NBA offense, but I've got it down now.
What are your personal and team goals for the season?
My personal goals is just to help my team win. Team goals - I just want to be a conference champion.
If there is one player that you try to model your game after, who would it be and why?
Ray Allen. He would fit well in this offense, shooting set shots and threes. Coach Sadler likes a lot of set shots, so that's who I try to model my game after.
Has there been a returning player that has taken you under their wing?
The first person that tried to show me the ropes was Matt Bingaya. He stepped in and told that I was going to be good and he's always influencing me to get better every day.
What are you listening to when getting ready for a game?
Drake
