Baseball Player Michael Gilbert Released from Hospital

Oct. 6, 2014 HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss baseball player Michael Gilbert was released from the University Medical Center Monday afternoon. The following is a statement from Gilbert's parents, Bill and Melissa, Monday evening:

After being released to a regular room last night and steady improvement throughout the day, Michael was released from University Medical Center this afternoon and is resting comfortably at home. Although he still has a long way to go, our family sincerely appreciates all that has been done for Michael during this difficult time.

Without the prayers and encouragement he has received daily, he would not be where he is today.

Please continue to lift up Michael in your prayers for a complete recovery. We will continue to let you know how he is doing.
