Fall Baseball World Series Set for this Weekend

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss baseball team is set to hold its 3rd annual Breast Cancer Awareness Fall World Series, a three-game series, which will run from Friday, Oct. 31, through, Sunday, Nov. 2.
The teams will be split up into Black and Gold squads with each game of the series set to take place at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted for breast cancer awareness.
"It is an outstanding opportunity for this program to be able to help those in need in our community that have breast cancer," said sixth-year Southern Miss baseball coach Scott Berry. "It is an event that we look forward to each year."
In addition, the Golden Eagle baseball program will hold its second Trick or Treat at The Pete, Thursday, Oct. 30, and youngsters will be able to obtain candy in their costumes as well as play carnival games that will be setup that evening. The event runs from 5-6:30 p.m., and there will be prizes awarded for best costumes. Both the Southern Miss baseball and softball teams will be in costumes for the event. In addition, Hattiesburg Coca-Cola will provide free drinks at this free family-friendly event.
The final game of the world series will complete fall practice for the Golden Eagles.
