HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss baseball coach Scott Berry announced Thursday the addition of Tim Lynch of Jupiter, Fla., during the spring signing period for the 2013 season.
The 6-foot-2, 215 lb., infielder attends Dwyer High School and plays for coach Frank Torre and has seen action at first base, third base and catcher.
"Tim comes to us as a power-hitting left-handed hitter from Florida," said Berry. "He can play on the corners in the infield as well as in the outfield. His swing from the left side has the ability to give us power in the middle of our lineup. We look forward to having Tim start our program as a freshman."

He is playing in the in PalmBeachHighSchoolBaseball.com senior game later this month. Lynch joins Sean Buchholz (Carpentersville, Ill./ John A. Logan, RHP), Zachary Byrd (Jackson, Miss./Murrah HS, RHP), Conor Fisk (Brown Deer, Wis./Wabash Valley College, RHP), A.J. Glasshof (Sugar Land, Texas/San Jacinto JC, LHP) and right-handed pitcher/middle infielder Jake Winston (Vidalia, La./Trinity Episcopal, RHP/INF) for the Golden Eagles for next season.
