Lady Eagle Golfers in Fifth-Place at Blue Raider Invitational

Murfreesboro, Tenn. - The Southern Miss women's golf team is in fifth-place after two rounds of the Blue Raider Invitational, hosted by Middle Tennessee State and played at the par-72, 6,177-yard Old Fort Golf Club.
The Lady Eagles are 25-over par after rounds of 302 and 299 to sit three shots back of Jacksonville State and Southern Illinois. The 299 is the third lowest second round score in school history.
Senior Vicky Correa is tied for 10th-place at four-over par after firing rounds of 76 and 72. The 72 was her school record third round of par or better this year and the sixth of her career, which also tied a school record. Her 36-hole score of 148 is a season-best.
Junior Brandi Rodriguez is tied for 26th-place after carding rounds of 76 and 75 to sit at seven-over par. Redshirt junior Lauren Judson opened with a career-best 73 before shooting a 79 to sit eight-over par in 34th-place. Her 36-hole score of 152 is also a career-best.
Sophomore Sarah Hicks shot an 81 before firing a career-best 73 to sit in 43rd-place at 10-over par. Freshman Juliana Herrera closes out the scoring at 17-over par after posting rounds of 77 and 84 to sit in 76th-place.
Host Middle Tennessee State owns the lead after two rounds at 14-over par, seven shots in front of Morehead State.
Jacksonville State's Maya Parsons and Cassie Rushing are tied for the individual competition at even par, one shot ahead of Ashley Haggard of MTSU. The tournament concludes tomorrow with the final round beginning at 8:30 a.m.
