HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's soccer team closes out the road portion of their Conference USA schedule when they travel to C-USA foes UTEP and Colorado College this weekend.
Southern Miss (4-7-1, 1-4 C-USA) is coming off a split weekend where they defeated SMU at home on Friday, 2-0, before falling in a close affair to Tulsa, 3-2, on Sunday.
Danica Roberts led the Golden Eagle attack over the weekend with a pair of goals to give her a team-best five on the season. Chelsea Cruthirds also added three assists, including two against Tulsa, to give her four for the season.
Colorado College (8-3-4, 3-2-1 C-USA) currently sits in fifth in the C-USA standings and is coming off a split weekend where they fell to the Tigers of Memphis but knocked off UAB at home. Sunday's match will complete a four-game homestand for Colorado College.
Both UTEP and Colorado College rank in the top three in the conference in shots per game, averaging over 16 each, and top four in goals per game, racking up over 1.8 each match.
"These are two very explosive, speedy offenses we will take on this weekend," said Coach Scott Ebke. "They make opposing defenses work extremely hard and we will have to be ready."
Kickoff for Friday's match in El Paso is set for 7 p.m. while Sunday's match in Colorado Springs will begin at 1 p.m.
