Women's Golf Opens Season at Dale McNamara Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's golf team opens the 2011-12 fall season in Owasso, Okla., at the Dale McNamara Invitational, hosted by Tulsa and played at the par-72, 6,450-yard Patriot Golf Course.
Competing with Southern Miss in the season-opening event will be Arizona State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas State, UCF, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Longwood, Middle Tennessee State, Missouri, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts and Tulsa.
Golfers will play 18 holes each day, Monday-Wednesday following a shotgun format.
This will be the Lady Eagles first time participating in the Dale McNamara Invitational.
The Lady Eagles are led by sophomore Brandi Rodriguez, who set a Southern Miss record last year with a 75.6 stroke average. Senior Sandra Sohlberg, junior Vicky Correa and sophomore Lauren Judson also return.
Newcomers for Southern Miss include Sarah Hicks, Charlotte McLoughlin, Pair Noibanchong and Alicen Park.
Head coach Julie Gallup enters her 12th year as the leader of the Lady Eagles.
