Military/First Responders Appreciation Day Set Saturday versus UAB

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss baseball team will hold Military Appreciation/First Responders Day at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field, Saturday, May 7, when the Golden Eagles play host to C-USA foe UAB in a 2 p.m., contest.
The day will feature area military and first responder personnel being recognized prior to the game as well as at least three retired generals in attendance for the contest. There will be first responders and military equipment on display outside the stadium while the first 1,000 fans will receive a free American flag.
During the game, patriotic music will be played and Larry D. Smith, Professor of Voice at Southern Miss, is slated to sing the national anthem.
Fans with Military IDs will be admitted to that day's game for $3.
