Women's Tennis Upends Jackson State, 5-1

JACKSON, Miss. -- The Southern Miss women's tennis team upended Jackson State 6-1 Thursday afternoon at the JSU Tennis Complex.
Vroni van Berlo paired with Alex Bradley to win 8-6 over Britney Shy and Asha Saravanamohan at No. 1 doubles. Asa Bengtson and Zoe Lee combined for an 8-5 win over Victoria Guedez and Kesica Jayaololan at No. 2.
The Eagles blew through the singles matches with Stephanie Dellocono beating Buedez at No. 2 6-1, 6-3. Bengtson defeated Saravanamohan 61, 6-2 at No. 3 and Lee took her match 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4. At No. 5, Bradley beat JSU's Dominique McCraney, 6-, 6-0.
Vroni van Berlo lost to Shy when she retired with a 3-0 lead in the first.
Southern Miss travels to Houston to play C-USA opponents Rice and Houston.
