Women's Tennis Team Falls to Louisiana-Lafayette, 7-0

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns on Monday morning at the USM Tennis Courts. The Lady Eagles now have a record of 4-6.
The Ragin' Cajuns swept the Eagles' singles players in straight sets.
At number one, Julie Mazinova downed Stephanie Dellocono, 6-1, 6-2. Audrey Wooland handed Åsa Bengtson a 6-3, 6-1, loss court two, while Elja van Berlo lost 6-3, 6-0 to Milou Isreal on court three.
Zoe Lee dropped a 6-0, 6-4 match to Briggitt Marcovich at number four, and Hannah Appleyard downed Shannon Rogers 6-3, 6-0 on court five. Frances Askew dropped her match to Mia Gordon, 6-1, 6-0 at number six.
Louisiana also took all three wins in doubles. The closest battle came at number one where Dellocono and Vroni van Berlo lost 8-4 to Wooland and Mazinova.
The Lady Eagles hit the road of a trio of matches beginning with Norfolk State, followed by a match at East Carolina and conclude with Richmond.
