Copeland Earns All-American Honors

AUBURN, Ala. - Senior right-handed pitcher Scott Copeland was selected as a Louisville Slugger/Collegiate Baseball Magazine third-team All-American as announced by the publication today.
Copeland sports a perfect 11-0 mark with a 3.38 ERA on the season. He has appeared in 14 games to this point in the 2010 season and the Golden Eagles are 13-1 in the games he has toed the rubber.
He was named a first-team All-Conference USA selection last week and earned Most Valuable player honors for his performance in the C-USA tournament.
The White Oak, Texas native becomes the fourth Golden Eagle player to earn All-American honors in the last four years, joining Bo Davis (2009), Tyler Conn (2008) and Trey Sutton (2007). He also becomes the 19th Southern Miss player since 1990 to garner All-American accolades.
Copeland will take the bump on Friday as the No. 27 ranked Golden Eagles open play in the Auburn Regional, their eighth consecutive NCAA appearance. Copeland will face the No. 16 ranked Clemson Tigers at Plainsman Field in Auburn, Ala. first pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.
