Augusta, Ga. - The Southern Miss women's golf team heads into the final round of the Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate in seventh place. The tournament is hosted by the Augusta State University and is played at Forest Hills Golf Club.
The Lady Eagles shot are 47-over par after two rounds, nine shots back of third-place Western Carolina. Coastal Carolina is in first-place at 24-over par, and host Augusta State is in second at 31-over par.
Senior Samantha Holts led the Lady Eagles in a tie for 14th-place at 10-over par, including an even par 72 in the first round. Sophomore Sandra Sohlberg is in a tie for 25th-place at 13-over par. Junior Virginia Espejo is in a tie for 28th-place in a tie for 14th-place.
Freshman Vicky Correa is tied for 34th-place in a tie for 15th-place, while senior Amy Roberts finished 17-over par in a tie for 44th-place.
Augusta State's Tamara Luccioli leads the tournament at three-over par. Brittany Henderson of Coastal Carolina and UNC-Wilmington's Sofia Hagsund is tied for second.
The tournament closes tomorrow at 8 p.m.
