Three Soccer Players Earn Academic Honors from C-USA

Southern Miss soccer players Caitlin Leumas, Amy Davis and Jana Mason were each named to a All-C-USA Academic team today, as announced by the league office.
Leumas, a sophomore defender from Mandeville, La., carries a perfect 4.0 GPA in physical therapy which earned her a spot on the All-C-USA Academic First Team. On the season she started all 19 games and played over 1,700 minutes on the Southern Miss backline.
Davis, a junior defender from Vestavia Hills, Ala., posted a 3.95 GPA in nursing to earn a spot on the All-C-USA Academic Second Team. On the pitch Davis played nearly 1,000 minutes spread over 16 games including seven as a starter.
Mason, a senior from Tupelo, Miss., who also earned academic honors from ESPN the Magazine/ CoSIDA last season announced yesterday, was a second team All-C-USA Academic selection. She carries a 3.85 GPA in Health and Fitness.
On the field Mason was tied for the team lead with eight points on the season. She tallied two goals and four assist in her final campaign. Her four assist were a team high. She played in all 19 games including 14 as a starter in her final season while logging nearly 1,100 minutes.
