HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss head men's basketball coach Larry Eustachy has announced the signing Bryant Crowder (Harlem, N.Y.) to a letter-of-intent and grant-in-aid for the 2011-12 academic year.
Crowder (Harlem, N.Y.), a 6-10 power forward, is the 24th-ranked player by JucoJunction.com. Last year, Crowder was third in the Western State Conference with 17.6 points per game, first in rebounds (9.7) and blocks (3.2) and second in field goal percentage (.608 - 76-of-125). His performance earned him All-Western State Conference honors.
Crowder, who transferred to the College of Eastern Utah prior to this year, has to sit out the first 13 games due to transfer rules.
The Harlem, N.Y., native chose Southern Miss over Arizona State, Hawaii, St. John's, Utah, UTEP.
Crowder joins Keith DeWitt (High Point, N.C.), Anthony Nieves (Bronx, N.Y.) and Christian Robbins (Foxworth, Miss.) in the Golden Eagles 2011-12 signing class.
