Lady Eagle Golfers Head to USF Waterlefe Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's golf team will compete in its second tournament of the year when they participate in the USF Waterlefe Invitational, hosted by USF.
The annual tournament takes place on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 4-5 at Waterlefe Country Club in Bradenton, Fla. The par 72 course will play to a yardage of 6,908 yards. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 holes Tuesday. Tee times start at 8 a.m. each day.
Southern Miss is making its second straight appearance in the USF Waterlefe Invitational and tenth overall. Last year, USM finished in 11th-place. Nova Southeastern won the team tournament. Nova's Taylor Collins is the defending champion. Virginia Espejo led the Eagles in a tie for 22nd-place.
Southern Miss is one of 18 teams in the tournament. They will be joined by two of Golfweek's Top 100 teams, Augusta State (51st) and Montana (82nd). Also participating is Colorado State, Daytona State, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Houston Baptist, Louisiana-Monroe, McNeese State, Miami, Middle Tennessee State, Nova Southeastern, South Alabama, South Dakota State, Stetson, UAB and host USF.
