Volleyball's Seymour Earns Setter of the Week Accolades

IRVING, Texas - Southern Miss' Kelsea Seymour was one of three players earning Conference USA Volleyball Player of the Week honors announced today by Conference USA.
With a .541 hitting efficiency and three team victories that stretched Tulsa's winning-streak to 18-consecutive matches, senior Hannah Stout was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week. For the second time this season, Setter of the Week accolades went to Southern Miss' Kelsea Seymour who dished out 11.62 assists per set in USM's two home wins. Rice's libero Tracey Lam was named Defensive Player of the Week for an average of 6.44 digs per set.
Seymour, 5-9 junior from Long Beach, Calif., averaged 11.62 assists per set in guiding the Golden Eagles to two wins over the weekend. She tallied 57 assists, a C-USA single-match weekly best, and 13 digs for her sixth double-double of the season against UCF Friday. Seymour also added five kills and four blocks against the Knights. The 5-9 junior followed that performance with 36 assists, four kills, seven digs and two blocks against UTEP Sunday. Offensively, Seymour landed nine kills on 23 attempts with no errors for a .391 hitting efficiency versus the Miners. This is her sixth career Setter of the Week accolade and second of the season.
