Shortstop Brian Dozier Wins Cellular South Fans Choice Award

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss shortstop Brian Dozier won the Cellular South fans choice award in conjunction with the Boo Ferriss Award announced tonight at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame dinner.
Dozier received 22,238 text message votes (22,338) in the last week, nearly 4,000 more votes than second place finisher Scott Bittle (18,884) of Ole Miss. Belhaven pitcher Craig Wescott finished a distant third with 795 votes.
With the fans choice award comes a $2,500 donation to the Southern Miss athletic department from Cellular South.
