Seth Hester Named Southern Miss Student-Athlete of the Week

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Sophomore pitcher Seth Hester has been named the Southern Miss Student Athlete of the Week.
The Stringer, Miss., native, who was also named the C-USA Pitcher of the Week, had the best outing of his young career leading the Golden Eagles to a baseball doubleheader sweep over Troy this past week.
In the second game of a doubleheader last week at Troy, Hester tossed a seven-inning, two-hit shutout in an 8-0 Golden Eagle victory.
Hester walked two and fanned a pair of Trojan batters. He faced just three hitters over the minimum, while coaxing the Trojans into hitting two double plays. He allowed only five base runners on the afternoon, none of which reached as far as second base.
This is the first honor for Hester this season.
