HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Junior forward Jana Mason picked up her second academic honor in the last week as she was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Second Team, as announced by the Conference office.
Mason, who carries a perfect 4.0 GPA in nutrition and dietetics, was also named second team academic all-District last week by CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine.
This season she played over 1,000 minutes while accumulating six points on the season with one goal and four assist.
The all-academic teams consist of student-athletes who have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better and are a starter or key reserve on their team.
Mason becomes the third Southern Miss soccer player in the last two seasons to earn academic honors from the Conference as Renee Hrapmann and Liz Hamlin were honored last season.
