HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss baseball program will offer high school players (currently in grades 9-12) the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of collegiate and professional scouts on January 17th at Pete Taylor Park.
The annual winter showcase format will mirror a professional tryout camp, which will give position players the chance to field and throw from their preferred position, while pitchers will get an opportunity to throw from both the windup and the stretch.
This camp will be attended by four-year collegiate coaches, junior college coaches and professional scouts. Cost of the camp is $110 and preregistration is encouraged as space is limited to the first 100 applicants. Registration will begin at noon and the showcase will start at 1:00 p.m. at Pete Taylor Park.
